Why Make the Switch to Battery Powered Equipment?

  • If you’re considering making a change from gas powered lawn equipment to battery powered equipment, take a good inventory of what tools you want to replace.  Be sure they are ALL available from the same manufacturer.
  • Every time you purchase battery powered equipment within the same brand, you should always buy a new tool with the battery and charger.  As you continue to add tools, you will also be adding batteries and chargers.  Now, if you are using your battery powered blower and the battery runs out of charge, simply put another fully charged battery in and keep going.  Line up those batteries and chargers in your garage and keep them charged!
  • Battery powered blowers use the most juice.
  • Remember, sustainability isn’t just about battery power, it’s also about the quality of the battery powered equipment you purchase.  What good is it to have to throw away the battery powered equipment you bought because there aren’t batteries for it anymore, or you can no longer buy parts for it?  Find out if -
o    The retailer you purchased your battery powered equipment from support their products with replacement parts (if applicable).
o    They know how to get you a new battery or file a warranty on the battery powered equipment you purchased.
o    If you answered NO to either of these statements, you didn’t purchase your battery powered equipment from the correct retailer!

  • No more checking/changing oil.  No more oil/gas mixture in small hand-held equipment, thus eliminating the risk of not mixing it correctly or at all and damaging your gas-powered equipment!
  • No more going to the gas station with the gas can!  No more smelly gasoline in your car!
  • If you decide to purchase battery powered snow removal equipment, you definitely need to have extra batteries on hand.  Batteries work fine in the cold weather, but the draw on the batteries will vary based on the consistency of the snow.  Light, fluffy snow won’t use as much power as heavy, wet snow.  You’ll want to have an extra battery or two fully charged and ready if you need them!  This will be the perfect time to also purchase a battery powered leaf blower!  Battery powered leaf blowers aren’t just for blowing leaves!  You can use your battery powered leaf blower to blow off and dry your car after washing it, blow grass clippings off your driveways or sidewalks, blow a light dusting of snow off your steps, sidewalks, or patio, blow out your garage too!  Retire your broom and make good use of that battery powered blower!
  • Keep all of the batteries for your battery powered equipment fully charged all the times.  If the power goes out, Do-Cut has battery powered lights and also power inverters that can be used to charge your cell phone, computers, etc.  These power inverters have regular plugs as well as USB ports for charging.
  • Battery powered zero-turn mowers have cutting decks up to 50 inches and can mow up to two acres without needing to be re-charged.  Most of these units have larger batteries, but remember, if you stay within the same brand of equipment, the batteries are interchangeable.  So, the battery for your hand-held battery powered blower will also fit into your zero-turn mower and give you more mowing time!  This is a win-win situation!  Your zero-turn mower has now become the charging station for your hand-held batteries.  YES!  You can charge most, if not all of your batteries at once within the charging port of your battery powered zero turn, and just plug in the zero-turn and not multiple chargers.
  • Commercial cutters/landscapers, when purchasing battery powered equipment, you are eliminating the need to buy gas and oil for the engine because you will now have an electric motor supported by a battery or multiple batteries.  How many times have you been in the middle of your workday and a belt breaks?  Never again, there aren’t any belts or pulleys on the mower deck of battery powered mowers.  Less wear parts – you would basically just remove the old deck spindle assembly and drop in a new one!  How simple is that?
  • How much time do your crews waste at the gas station?  Productivity will increase because you’ve just eliminated the need to stop to fill up all the gas cans and get that early morning coffee and donut!  Plug in the mowers at night when the trailers pull back into your shop or garage, and they are ready to run in the morning!
  • Battery powered commercial hand-held equipment is also available at Do-Cut.  Some of these units have on board batteries, and some have larger batteries that can be worn on your back or a belt making the tools lighter and easier to maneuver.

What are you waiting for?  Stop in to Do-Cut and get your battery on!
